Jubilee Pavement, Exeter Cathedral

Exeter Cathedral’s medieval Quire reopened in 2024 after extensive conservation and improvement works. The project included the creation of the new ‘Jubilee Pavement’, inspired by architect Sir George Gilbert Scott’s original tiled floor designs. While most of Scott’s designs were removed during the 1960s restoration, the new flooring echoes his vision. It was constructed using locally sourced Devon stone and integrated Purbeck stone supplied by Haysom Purbeck Stone, resulting in a richly patterned floor that complements the historic setting.
